Tree Surgery
Why Hire a
Tree Surgeon?
Timely maintenance on trees and woodland helps safeguard surrounding buildings/infrastructure and helps prevent long-term tree health issues.
There are also compliance and insurance implications to attempting to undertake tree surgery work yourself or using an unqualified contractor.
Inex supports commercial and residential clients with all aspects of tree surgery work — including pruning and felling dangerous/hazardous trees; hedge maintenance and removal, and stump removal — and we operate in accordance with all legal requirements and guidelines.
Services
Inex’s tree maintenance team carry out tree crown lifting and crown reductions for clients with commercial premises and gardens — all delivered to the professional British Standard (BS 3998).
We undertake sectional dismantling of trees of any size — from small gardens, to road sides, to forests and woodland.
All tree felling is carried out to the highest standards of safety and precision, ensuring no damage to surrounding trees and structures.
The Inex team can help with trees that are potentially dangerous to their surroundings through growth, terrain issues or damage.
Where works cannot be completed within normal tree climbing, Inex operatives use cranes and MEWPs (mobile elevated working platforms) to enable the tree surgeon to undertake works safely.
Our tree surgery team can safely and efficiently remove tree stumps of various sizes from your grounds, and have a number of stump grinder machines suitable for all terrain types.
Professional tree surveys provide valuable insight into your trees and woodland, and are particularly useful for landowners who are concerned about safety, tree diseases or as part of the TPO (Tree Protection Order) process within conservation areas.
Inex’s trained specialists will assess and report on your trees, giving you the confidence to make informed decisions.

FAQs
A tree surgeon, or 'arborist', is a trained professional with knowledge of proper tree care techniques.
A qualified tree surgeon can carry out any tree works — from pruning and maintenance to whole tree removal — to a high standard of quality and safety.
It is highly recommended that a skilled tree surgeon is used for any substantial tree work. Without the correct safety equipment and tools, tree work can be dangerous.
A qualified arborist will carry out any pruning operations to B.S 3998 standards, ensuring that the tree is not damaged.
In some cases, you may need permission to carry out tree work.
There can be varying reasons for this, such as tree preservation orders (TPOs), conservation or other planning restrictions. A qualified tree surgeon will be able to help identify and navigate these restrictions.
If a tree is dead or dying it can become unstable or start shedding limbs and can become dangerous and removal may be the best option.
In other cases, it may just require some simple pruning or crown reduction to improve the structure of the tree.
Sometimes, more advanced techniques, such as soil aeration, can be employed to give a specimen tree a fighting chance of revival.
There are a number of reasons that a tree may need to be pruned.
Trees may need pruned if they are encroaching on a building or blocking a foot path. Pruning can also improve the structure of a tree or let more light into a space.
If there are any dangerous or unstable branches, it is advised that these be pruned to make them safe.
